For us, the human experience is key. While the specifics of our approach are highly customizable to meet the unique needs of each client, our focus is on making sure your projects are Relevant, Accessible, Inclusive, and Scalable.
Our first step is to make sure the tools you're building and the projects you're running are relevant to your users. We'll work closely with you, to understand the users or internal teams you're trying to reach and the set of issues you're trying to solve for. As we move through the project, we'll continue to evaluate as we build, to ensure your products are practical, usable, and desirable.
We're dedicated to making your projects, products, and content usable by as many people as possible, regardless of abilities or limitations. Our premise is simple: tech should be accessible by default, without individuals having to disclose their own needs to achieve it. We'll help you design and develop for neurodivergence, screen readers, WCAG compliance, and other necessary accommodations.
We're cultivating a culture where inclusivity is proactive and routine. Our commitments: seek a diverse array of voices and perspectives, include Accessibility accommodations as standard practice without forcing anyone to disclose, amplify the platforms of those with lived experience, and encourage open and ongoing dialogues. Help us build an environment of mutual respect, where we can each share as much of ourselves as we wish.
Although we create bespoke solutions to meet the specific needs and goals of your team, the current iteration of a tool or project isn't always its final form. Sometimes your team will have another project and you want to reuse the framework we've already built. Sometimes, the program you're building will grow over time. We consider it our responsibility to ensure our work is able to evolve and adapt as you need.
We take a user-first approach to our work, optimizing all of our projects to be logical, insightful, easy to navigate, easy to report on, and visually appealing. By improving your projects at both the quantitative and qualitative level, we help you improve those projects as a whole.
At the beginning of every project we hold a kickoff meeting, usually lasting about 30 minutes. It can be video call or voice, your choice. Although we can do a lot by email, we've found that a conversation is the best way to set expectations from the start. You'll give us an idea of the problems you're trying to solve for and the users or audience you're addressing. You'll tell us what you've already tried, which elements you'd like to keep, and what needs to change. We'll ask what you'd ideally like to see and which factors are your "unavoidables". This is a very important conversation, but you don't need to prepare anything written. Expect us to be taking notes furiously!
After we've gained an understanding of your needs and expectations, we'll continue to develop our understanding of your organization and the project at hand. We do a wealth of research for every project, as it's critical that we understand your company and the nuances of your business; this is how we design bespoke solutions.
With a robust picture of your company and your needs, we then start ideating and designing potential solutions. We'll keep an open dialogue between your team and ours, and keep you informed as we move along. In our kickoff call we'll have asked about your communication preferences, so we'll have a good sense of how (and how frequently) you wish to be involved.
Once we've developed a prototype and a plan, you'll give us the go-ahead, and our team will put it into action.
Once we've built out the framework, implemented the system, reviewed the tool, etc., you're on your own. Just kidding! In reality, once we've delivered the project there's a lot of important review work on our end. Behind the scenes, we'll need to ensure that the project meets the requirements and is achieving your goals. We'll assess to see what needs to be amended and then make those fixes. And we're also there to support you: change can be a challenge, and we're here for as long as you need us.
